Basalious Corner Store

Backstory:

A friend of mine purchased a century-old gas station for his family to invest in. This station had been a long running business in rural central Virginia and he wanted a fresh look while maintaining strong and simple branding for merch, signage and swag in the future. During the interview process, he shared how his parents had left everything to immigrate to the states. It was just his father and mother and his sister and himself - just the four of them. After going creating a few mood boards, I decided to use the name "Basalious" which derives from the same word for king or ruler and build a four-spurred crown designed around the letter "B", one spur for each of the family members. To ensure the brand mark would present well, I took extra care to ensure the crown would have thick enough lines and enough negative space to maintain fidelity on stamps and custom printed items.
